Second electoral round in seventy-three constituencies in Las Tunas

More than 70 percent of Las Tunas voters went to the polls on Sunday, according to the data offered to 26 by Martha Rodríguez, the president of the Provincial Electoral Commission.

Martha Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Electoral Commission in Las TunasThe electoral authority reported that as a result of the process, 595 constituencies already elected their delegates; while the other 73, distributed in the eight municipalities, go to the second round because any of the candidates reached the required votes at the polls.

All the organizational process for the realization of the second round of the elections has already been activated. From the early hours on Monday, the corresponding personnel informs the people, prepares biographies, and works on the organization of the polling stations and printing of the ballots.

The election day ran under the Law, the insurance and communication plans worked, and the information processing groups did a good job.

Rodríguez sent congratulations to all the electoral authorities and support staff, who dedicated intense days to achieve the success of the process; among them, the pioneers in charge of the care of the ballot boxes and those who processed the information with speed and rigor; but, especially, "to the people, who were present at the polls from early hours to endorse our democracy."
