Jobabo hosts main July 26th celebration in Las Tunas

With the hospitality, modesty, industriousness, and joy that identifies Jobabo, the children of this southern territory of the province of Las Tunas, full of unique history and patriotism, woke up today.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- These adjectives are more than justified because this day summarizes months of efforts and dreams fulfilled by the locals, deserving of the headquarters of the Provincial Act for July 26, National Rebellion Day.

That is why, amid economic deficiencies, the facilities that had been paralyzed for some time in their execution were ready, such as the Canning and Vegetable Factory, production and service units in the former Makenaf Factory, a desalination plant, and the return of several cabins. to the 30 de Diciembre Motel, among others.

Jobabo's history is implicit in the coat of arms of the small city, approved to recognize the merits of personalities from different sectors.

This shield summarizes the most notable values of that demarcation, such as Monte Cabaniguán, the main reservoir of the acutus, or American, crocodile, represented by a lizard; while a red ribbon symbolizes the blood spilled in the independence struggles.

It is also registered, in 1553, the year in which the first rebellion of Cuban slaves took place in this territory, in the gold mines of Caobilla. Meanwhile, horses and rifles reveal that the Battle of Palo Seco took place on the premises of this eastern geography, led by Máximo Gómez.

Another date: 1958, represented by broken hands and chains, which express the end of the tyranny in Jobabo, liberated by the Rebel Army on December 30 that year.

Jobabo inhabitants want to keep these virtues alive. For this reason, they know that the best way to achieve it is to maintain industriousness, simplicity, and patriotism as their motto.
