Provincial Act in commemoration of July 26th, held in Jobabo

The inauguration of a fruit and vegetable processing mini-industry is among the joys that the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks brought to the inhabitants of the municipality of Jobabo, who deserved the venue of the celebration -held on Saturday- for their efforts and results on various fronts of the economic and social life of the province.

Before the inauguration of these works, the Provincial Act for the anniversary was held, in which the member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and its first secretary in Las Tunas, Manuel René Pérez Gallego, recognized the efforts of the men and women of Jobabo, heirs of a long lineage dating from the slave uprising, in 1533, to the present.

The leader stressed that despite the constant adversity that materialized in a cruel economic, financial, and commercial siege against Cuba, the Antillean people do not renounce the human realization of their social project and their dreams.

To crown such aspirations, he specified, it is necessary to solve old problems and popular demands related, for example, to transportation, waste collection, housing construction, water supply, prices, business management, and the urgent emergence of agriculture as an essential entity for food sovereignty and security.

"We are challenged to find solutions. Our noble and heroic people demonstrate their desire to continue making the Revolution," Pérez Gallego said.

Yennys López Quiñones, an art instructor, spoke on behalf of the youth and urged the new generations of Cubans to continue the path of socialism, distinguished by its humanist and decolonizing work.

At the ceremony, the card of the Young Communists League (UJC) and the Communist Party of Cuba was delivered to a group of young students and workers who are an example in their performance in different fields.

On the occasion of the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Moncada deed, a store was also made available to workers of the Charcoal Processing Plant for the sale of food, tools, and supplies; as well as the terrace belonging to the Perucho Figueredo Culture House was inaugurated, aimed at the recreation of citizens.

A veterinary clinic opened in the facilities of the Manifesto de Montecristi Agricultural Polytechnic Institute, which will provide students with greater professional technical rigor while offering care to pets in the community.

At the 14 de Junio Hospital, the child and adolescent consultation was opened and the Pediatrics ward was renovated with 24 beds available for child care.

The tribute to the National Rebellion Day becomes for the municipality of Jobabo, and the whole Las Tunas province, a starting point to continue in the forging of a story that had one of its most beautiful and intrepid chapters in July 1953.
