Some twenty electric bicycles, belonging to the Post Office, are riding through the streets of Puerto Padre intending to shorten delivery times and achieve a higher degree of customer satisfaction.
Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- According to Yordanis Rondón Fernández, director of the entity, the transportation resources were "the result of a purchase, product of the currency generated by the international parcels and the wealth acquired over the years. We are the first province in the country to make an investment of this type, which will allow us to provide prompt services. Likewise, we are already in the process of contracting spare parts, especially tires, and batteries, to act quickly in the event of technical failures."
Given the characteristics of the municipality, the benefits of the mechanical revolution are enormous. According to Rondón Fernández, "The reception has been good because some time ago there were no spare parts for repairing the existing equipment. We now have a full staff of letter carriers and the acquisition of this equipment will improve the quality of services: home deliveries, press delivery and payment of money orders, assistance, and social security payments."
Procedural shortcomings are causing dissatisfaction among the people of Puerto Potosi. Likewise, the recent acquisition aims to rectify some of the errors; however, the task goes beyond the material factor.
"In the last few months, we have had a complex situation with the lack of personnel for different reasons, such as low salaries and poor working conditions. However, the change to electric cycles has been a total benefit, because now we have all the letter carriers in the area and the greater promptness of the press, especially in the villages of Delicias and San Manuel, where before they received it every two days."
The courier service in the Villa Azul is working together to optimize the reception in the homes. Similarly, the administrator also acknowledged "the improvements mean a commitment to reach our subscribers on time."
