The school year has begun and with it, transportation in the city of Las Tunas returns to normal, maintaining the usual routes and opting for a group of measures to support the mass transportation of passengers.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Reynaldo Reyes Silva, transport delegate in this eastern city, told 26 that "decisions have been made in the province to increase a group of means for public transport, mainly in the capital, and to include routes 3 and 10 because of their importance.”

"A group of inspectors from the State Traffic Unit has also been deployed at the essential stops, to facilitate transportation accordingly the provisions of Resolution 435, which states that all drivers of state vehicles must stop at the stops whether inspectors are there or not

It is with the beginning of the school year that the influx of personnel increases, and the mobility of people in the morning and afternoon hours; therefore, it is necessary to make a call for drivers' solidarity and those who go in the busses.

"The morning monitoring carried out at the various stops in the city shows that discipline prevails in this regard, an attitude that must be maintained because the educational period lasts almost a whole year.”

"Another of the positive elements with which we started this stage is the routing of the leased buses, which were designed for public transport, but there was really no organization in this direction, and today they have to collect their route sheet and go to where the transport management of the municipality decides, according to the number of busses that the itinerary has per route", pointed out Reyes Silva.

The other link in this long chain comprises motorcycle taxis, which must comply with the orientation of assisting the booths, charging what is established, and with fixed routes that are the Buena Vista district and the two hospitals. "The service will be stably extended in the evening hours due to the social impact of passenger transportation in the province's capital."
