Mobile services continue to grow in Las Tunas

The creation of civil infrastructure for the location of mobile telephone radio bases is one of the priorities of the Cuba Telecommunications Company S.A. (ETECSA) in Las Tunas, to create the conditions for when technological growth is possible.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Nelson Reyes González, director of the Territorial Division in the province, told the Cuban News Agency exclusively that there are around 14 sites ready for the location of radio bases once it is possible to execute the technology investment process.

Despite the tense economic situation that the country experienced during 2023, this entity maintained its quality indicators, it can even be said that they improved in terms of service efficiency, the manager pointed out.

Regarding mobile services, growth is achieved in some settlements such as Bartle, and more than 80 percent of the popular councils of Las Tunas have some means of access to the Internet through the mobile line.

Meanwhile, in fixed telephony -he stressed- more than a thousand new capacities were offered to the population during 2023, mainly in the municipality of Las Tunas and in Jobabo, the latter identified as having low telephone density.

Reyes González added that these actions were achieved with the relocation of lines not being used in Holguín, for example, thus achieving greater growth, including coastal communities in the north of the province, such as El Socucho and La Herradura.

By 2024, Etecsa plans to sustain its quality indicators and advance in the process of banking operations based on the generalization of the use of the QR code in the economic and social actors of this eastern Cuban province.
