
The Copextel Territorial Division in Las Tunas has been contributing to the energy matrix change for several years. This year, its staff has been involved in the installation of two photovoltaic solar parks, the first of which is located in the town of Delicias, in the municipality of Puerto Padre, which delivers 21.8 megawatts (MW) during the day.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- Currently, teams from the company are working on the installation of a similar park in Blanca Rosa, in the municipality of Majibacoa, Roilán García Bello, services manager of the Las Tunas branch, told this newspaper.
“This park will contribute 5 MW to the National Electric Energy System; it is composed of two inverters of 2.5 MW each, 18 concentrator boxes, 9,048 panels, and 348 tables,” he explained.
Copextel plays an important role in the assembly process for all components. It is thus part of the national efforts that seek, with these investments arising from cooperation with China, to contribute to the country's energy stability.
