Since the information phase was decreed in the province of Las Tunas due to the danger that the passage of Hurricane Elsa poses to the territory, Commerce and Gastronomy have acted with haste to safeguard means and resources, in such a way that do not have to regret losses.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Rolando Rodríguez Rojas, director of the Business Group of Commerce, assured that work will be done in all the stores of its network to expedite the sale of the basic basket. He pointed out that, for a few days, the resources have been in those units and it was decided that they will work without time limits until there are customers so that the food is in the hands of the population. However, if some remain in inventory, the conditions for their protection will be created.

"In the building materials stores, they work hard to preserve some important resources such as cement," he emphasized. They work promptly so that the premises comply with the necessary conditions and guarantee the protection of the supplies that the people of Las Tunas demand so much.

“In the Gastronomy units, they finalize details to face any atmospheric emergency. The measure was adopted to raise the assortments in the warehouses and we have decided to continue with the production of food; the food delivery service will also be maintained and we will extend it until the weather conditions allow it.”

The manager added that in the accommodation units they guarantee the protection of resources, especially those located on the beaches. And he emphasized that in those that today function as isolation centers, food will continue to be prepared for the personnel held there.

Rodríguez Rojas reiterated that the Group and the municipal defense councils have well-defined collective kitchens and evacuation centers because, in case of need, they will be in charge of ensuring the food for the evacuees.
