Aurora María Díaz Pérez has worked 40 years in the banking sector, 21 of them as an IT security specialist in the Provincial Directorate of the Bank of Credit and Commerce (BANDEC), in Las Tunas.

More electricity workers traveled to Pinar del Río.

The workers of the electricity sector in Las Tunas reinforce their presence in Minas de Matahambre, Pinar del Río, where they contribute to restoring that service, seriously affected by the ravages of the powerful hurricane Ian, on September 27.

"With love and affection, everything can be achieved," that is the guiding motto for Dania Rondón Báez, an integral manager at the Tunas 1 Post Office. Her job category allows her to perform any function within the entity, but she confesses that she prefers the direct contact with the public. Twenty years are not enough and each intense day, each client, is worth a new story with which to smile.

Although several days have passed since Hurricane Ian hit the western end of Cuba, the peasants of the province of Las Tunas are contributing to the recovery of Pinar del Río, and are also helping to alleviate the difficulties associated with the phenomenon.

Many entities and agencies still discharge waste into the environment.

More than 20 entities have dumping permits in Las Tunas, which means some progress toward the goal to reduce the contamination of natural resources such as water and soil and, therefore, less damage to the lives of people, animals, and plants.
