Pentathletes Diana Leyva and Marco Antonio Rojas

Two other medals were achieved today by the reduced representation of Las Tunas in the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, after Marcos Antonio Rojas and Diana Leyva won silver and bronze, respectively, in the modern pentathlon relay events.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, Rojas was accompanied by Léster Ders in the men's competition, won by the Mexican duo with a difference of 47 points, and 47 seconds in the decisive laser race.

Among women, Diana Leyva and Delmis Pérez had entered second in the race, behind the Guatemalans from Centro Caribe Sports, but both duets were surpassed by the Mexican favorites, who took the gold medal with 494 units.

The chapinas, with 461, took the silver, ahead of the 421 points of the Island pair.

Before, Cuba had won two third places, through Léster Ders in the individual tournament and Leyva herself, accompanied by Juan Pablo Velázquez, in the mixed relay.
