Viera dominated the Dominican line-up

Carlos Juan Viera, from Las Tunas, did not allow liberties in 5.0 innings and Cuba destroyed the pitching of the Dominican Republic in three blows, until winning this Thursday 12-0 and completing a round day in the baseball tournament of the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The Cubans had beaten the Salvadorans by a 15-0 super knockout early in the morning, but the match against the locals was presented as a life or death appointment, with a reserved prognosis.

The Antilleans, however, showed their best face throughout the tournament and deployed an offensive of 14 hits that included a home run and three RBIs to the counts of Yoelkis Guibert and Andrys Pérez.

Three rallies of four scores in chapters two, four, and six declared the knockout and supported the work of Viera, who struck out four batters and allowed the same number of hits, to achieve his first success in the event.

Now, Cuba will have to go out to defeat Nicaragua this Friday and hope that the rest of the results allow the team to be included in the title dispute.
