Vladimir Rogov, deputy governor of the Zaporizhzhia province

Russian military engineers have built a staggering defense line in the Zaporizhzhia region, as reported by the deputy governor of the province, Vladimir Rogov.

Moscow.- As Rogov told the Vzgliad newspaper on Sunday, a deep defensive line with fortified areas was created, which will stop any enemy attempt to disturb the peace of the inhabitants of the Russian region of Zaporizhzhia.

The Russian army has controlled over 70 percent of the Zaporizhzhia region practically since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.

The territory was admitted to the Russian Federation based on the results of a referendum held among the locals at the end of last September where an overwhelming majority of the votes supported the accession to the Russian Federation.

The regional center, the city of Zaporizhzhia, however, remains under the control of the Ukrainian authorities. Rogov noted previously that there are great hopes, not unfounded, that by 2023 the entire Zaporizhzhia region will also become part of Russia.

He also said that they are ready to repel the offensive of the Ukrainian troops in the province. (PL)
