Thousands of soldiers and reservists are taking part in the maneuvers.Israel on Tuesday is conducting the largest military exercises in the country's history, which forced the Palestinian militias to declare a state of alert amid the growing tensions and reports about a military operation in the occupied territories.

Tel Aviv.- “All units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are involved in this drill,” dubbed Chariots of Fire, its Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ran Kochav said.

Thousands of soldiers and reservists from the three arms are taking part in the four-week-long maneuvers.

These war games are an unprecedented scope and will enable the Army to maintain a high level of preparation in a constantly changing environment, the IDF stated in a communique.

Facing that panorama, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian groups on Monday evening announced a state of alert in the Gaza Strip to face a possible invasion.

The escalation coincides with reports from The Times of Israel, according to which Tel Aviv authorities analyzed scenarios for a possible operation in the occupied territories.

In the last and a half months, the wave of violence increased in the area, after extensive Israeli operations in the West Bank, which included several attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem, and the response by the Palestinian militias, which carried out several attacks in this country.
