Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the Russian government will help his country in the production of missiles, including the Iskander model, Belta news agency reported today.

Minsk.- “The corresponding agreements were reached at the highest level,” assured the Belarusian leader, who added that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Dmitry Rogozin, director-general of the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), “to immediately provide support”.

During a meeting devoted to reviewing his country’s defense order for 2022, Lukashenko noted that the intention is to be able to use the experience of Russia’s missile developers and manufacturers.

In November 2021, the head of state expressed his country’s interest in receiving several divisions of Iskander missile systems from Russia.

At the meeting, he added that the country’s Armed Forces are functioning satisfactorily during a sudden inspection.

On May 4, the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported that the test for the Response Forces will include solving combat readiness problems, conducting a march to designated areas, as well as executing training and combat missions.

Minsk warned that the ongoing actions constitute more effective forms of troop training and pose no threat to the European community in general, nor any neighboring country in particular. (PL)
