Cimex S.A Corporation

Cimex S.A. and Tiendas Caribe corporations adopt measures here to streamline services in the network of facilities and reduce the crowding of people, given the current national and local epidemiological situation that imposes to stop the spread of the new coronavirus.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The restructuring of the cashier services, the suppression of the sale of products that are not in high demand and the decentralization of the sale of the items with more requests to more trading units, are some of the actions taken by Cimex, detailed Norberto Rodríguez Borges, general manager of the entity.

He also said that, in coordination with the municipal defense councils, they will carry out mobile sales of modules with assortments for cleaning and food, among other resources, in isolated communities.

"Cimex's strategy includes the recovery of the sale points distributed in the neighborhoods, of which eight have been rehabilitated so far and it is planned to continue later," he said.

In addition, he stressed that they will designate commercial units for sale to pregnant women, the disabled people, the elderly and social cases, according to the evaluations and provisions adopted by the Defense body in each territory.

For his part, Roberto Carlos Sánchez Suárez, general director of the Caribe Store Chain, stressed that this entity directs its actions to achieve a greater supply of assortments and a better queue organization, as well as speeds of service.

In line with this, he said, the service hours are extended until the end of sale of cleaning, toiletries, chemical, food products, as well as the set of clothing and accessories for the newborn, which will continue to be offered according to the indications of the country and the Ministry of Domestic Trade.

"The remaining items and the sale floors of these will close and the personnel will be assigned to reinforce the sale of other supplies to guarantee faster work," he said.

In statements to the local press, he also stated: "At the points of sale we will have a worker who will prepare the modules for clients so that the cashier-seller will not have direct contact with the merchandise, which gives greater agility and hygiene in marketing.

"We also work to reach neighborhoods and popular councils, depending on the supplies that the Chain possesses and after coordinating with the defense councils. This avoids the continuous movement of people to the stores.”

When referring to the supply, he explained that this will depend on the provisions of the country and that logistics for its conservation and transfer are held in the territory.

As part of the measures to better manage the services of Cimex and Tiendas Caribe, in Las Tunas, regulations were also established regarding the quantities of high-demand products, such as chicken and , to be sold, with the aim of achieving a more equitable distribution. Meanwhile, the support of the law enforcement authorities in the effort to achieve social discipline stands out.
