Reporters with 26 Newspaper move throughout the festival of the Cuban peasantry, and to the Caracol hall of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), we arrived to learn a little more about the peasant roots of the Island and the traditions that accompany us.

The Cucalambeana Fiesta is underway again and Juan Cristóbal seems to multiply in the new batch of poets. There is also no shortage of "Rufinas" and that smell of colander, corn, yarey, and other very Creole aromas, which slip through the bamboo of El Cornito to embrace cultivators of the most authentic Cuban tradition.

The Cucalambeana Fiesta, the supreme party of the Cuban peasantry, will take place in Las Tunas from June 28 to July 2, dedicated to the 194th birthday of Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo (El Cucalambé), the greatest bucolic poet of the 19th century in the Island; the intellectual Haydée Santamaría Cuadrado; the poet and plastic artist Renael González Batista, and the 45th anniversary of the System of Culture Houses (CPCC).

On one occasion Omar Valiño expressed: "The true success of Teatro Tuyo lies in having planted and made grow, in a desert land, a leafy nose tree." I look at the watering can that hangs from the top of the poster that talks about the 4th Clownclave Academic Meeting and the plant that stands below, and I think about how much wisdom those words contain. Like it to whoever likes it or regret it to whoever likes it, the facts speak and, these days, from the Balcón de Oriente, in the face of any adversity (including a blackout), that seedling drank at ease from the experience and feedback.
