Not forgetting the story was the maxim that marked the appointment in the José Martí Provincial Library dedicated to recalling what happened during the so-called Missile Crisis (or October Crisis), 60 years after those events.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Ricardo Ávalos Avilés, the vice president of the Union of Historians of Cuba (UNHIC) in the territory, emphasized the risks facing humanity as long as the accumulated experience is not taken into account. The dialogue reviewed the attitude of the Cuban government and the people being on the edge of a nuclear catastrophe.

The researcher, a special guest of the occasion, presented the book Crisis de Octubre: Península del Ramón (October Crisis: Ramón Peninsula), in which Oscar Antonio Larralde Otero compiles memories of those who experienced what happened in that region of Holguín at that time. These pages exalt popular mobilization and the maintenance of goods production and services, within the framework of tensions.

Historian Osvaldo Morfa Lima also reflected on the events; emphasized the presence of rocket sites in Las Tunas territory and presented a documentary made of authentic images taken from cinema that allows a better understanding of the facts. The participation of university students resulted in a lively exchange of various generations.
