Cuban deputy PM Inés María Chapman toured hydraulic works in Las Tunas.

Inés María Chapman Waugh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, reviewed the implementation of major investments in the hydraulic sector, in the municipalities of Jesús Menéndez and Las Tunas, and urged "a more comprehensive approach to jointly execute all the remaining projects. It's hard work, but it must be completed because it has the support of the state budget and aims to improve the population's life quality."

University of Las Tunas celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Three decades after its foundation as an independent institution, the University of Las Tunas (ULT in Spanish) proudly celebrates its anniversary. However, the origins of higher education in the territory date back half a century, to the 1970-1971 academic year, with the opening of a preparatory course for technological careers, promoted by Faure Chomón under the guidance of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.

National Fire Protection and Safety System Day.

From May 5th to the 18th, the National Fire Protection and Safety System Day is underway in the province of Las Tunas, as in the rest of the country, to promote risk prevention and a culture of self-care.

Majibacoa hosted Las Tunas provincial event for Cuban Peasant Day.

For their comprehensive results, farmers from the municipality of Majibacoa were honored to host the provincial event commemorating the 64th anniversary of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP). The act was held at the Frank País agricultural production cooperative, in the community of La Esperanza.

Visit to the agricultural areas in Jobabo.

During a visit to the Melanio Ortiz productive pole, in Jobabo, the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party (PCC in Spanish), Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, urged the agricultural sector of the territory to speed up its actions to increase the planting of viands, rice and other crops for the population.
