The Industry and Commerce Fair must improve in next editions

Several weeks after the 2nd Industry and Commerce Fair was held in Las Tunas, I dare to write these lines. Moreover, in advance, I assure you that I do not intend to contradict the oft-repeated truth of its success.

Nor do they intend to doubt that it is the most accurate space for the exchange of information available to the private and state businessmen of Tunisia, which is confirmed by its results and also by the criteria of experts in these matters. Among the greater triumphs is the concretion, again, that which I define as "the art of the first steps", something like the "but it moves," that so much good does to the presence of these lands in the matter of economic development, a link every day more determinant for the quality of life and the hope of those who we continue betting for our territory and its splendor.

We must not, however, repeat formulas from one edition to the next, at all costs; it is essential not to forget that something as transcendental as growing goes through the prism of studying in depth what we did so that the next edition is truly better, without schemes.

It is in itself regrettable that here we do not have the right fairgrounds for activities like these or similar; this is a problem that does not seem to have a solution in the short term due to different dilemmas, some of them known and, almost all of them, depending on instances that now transcend the concrete possibilities of the province.

But, if we add to that a program that did not respect its schedules, an inauguration with poor lighting and last-minute changes, in addition to the intense midday sun on the heads of those who remained in the canvas tents, you will suppose that it cannot be said that all of them were organizational successes.

Good manners and haste in answering an inquiry are not enough; attention to the apparent detail can turn into a boomerang if we overlook it, and that is as important as it is inexcusable for the fate of any event.

Valuable cultural projects were presented in full sun, we saw activities with no audience at all and we witnessed those who had to raise their voices during the presentation of their products because the Mariachi's loudspeaker was loud and "this is their time slot," an argument that seemed to outweigh the concrete possibility of a new agreement.

An event in which juicy contracts were signed, the first glimpse of the splendor of the fledgling export-import company of Las Tunas and the participation of local and foreign businessmen, deserved more lucidity, starting, for example, with the stands of the municipalities, a matter that, by the way, requires more advice.

Complaints reached the digital platforms of 26 about the limited access of the public to the spaces (violating what was initially planned, without explanation) and even from those who felt that everything was far below the previous edition, at least in terms of the excitement that also deserves a meeting like this, unique and transcendent.

These are just a few key points, gathered while we talked with participants and enthusiasts. Made with the call to deepen, now, from a grounded and sensitive analysis, based on the victory of this stock exchange, with a multi-sectorial vision. Perhaps something like this, with enough time, will be part of the good fortune of the next Fair.
