Maniabo Complex supports the agricultural sector

Outstanding labor is carried out by the workers of the Maniabo base business unit (UEB), from the province of Las Tunas, belonging to the National Dismantling and Construction Company, of the Logistics Business Group (GELMA), of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Yuniel Infante NaranjoLas Tunas, Cuba.- In the midst of numerous shortages, due to the current economic and health crisis, the group appeals to different alternatives to take advantage of the available resources in the territory, to satisfy some needs of the population and the units of the agricultural sector.

An example is in the blocks for walls, in whose elaboration they introduce formulas to increase the resistance and quality, from the incorporation of granite and stone dust from the municipality of Amancio, besides the required cement quota.

A part of these productions is destined to agricultural and livestock units, and the rest is sold to the population at the material stores to support the building of houses and other construction objects.

Also, they generalize a type of molten tank, with a capacity of 700 liters, without the need for a wire rod, and with proven durability, of which about 20 are executed each month, from a system of casting in molds.

Maniabo Complex supports the agricultural sectorThe group is also immersed in the production of wooden and leather implements, such as boxes for the collection of agricultural products, pieces for hives, stools, doors, windows, beds, and various furniture depending on the availability of raw materials.

They are also dedicated to the manufacture and repair of saddles, and the elaboration of various very useful implements for peasants, like machete sheaths, wands, and horse harnesses.

The current activities of the unit are completed with the construction of an organic fertilizer plant, of which one is being built in each Cuban province, with two warehouses, which will increase the availability of organic fertilizers in the territory.

According to Yuniel Infante Naranjo, head of the Various Productions Brigade and responsible for the investment, it is expected to obtain 34 tons per day of worm humus, compost, and other organic fertilizers to support the planting of grains, fruits, vegetables, viands, and animal feed.
