Six anniversary of Fidel Castro's death

The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, always present in the minds of his comrades, seems to be even more now in the face of the difficulties and challenges of the country, on the sixth anniversary of his death.

Havana, Cuba.- On an official visit to China, President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed on his Twitter account that "no matter how far we are from Cuba, we always feel the Commander in Chief very much alive. His revolutionary legacy is already a heritage of Humanity. His ideas are not only alive. Every day they acquire greater value and relevance. That is how it will be."

For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero said in a tweet "Fidel lives in the hearts of our people, in all those who defend their homeland, their sovereignty."

The many tributes to remember who is considered one of the most relevant political figures of the planet in the twentieth century and the first decades of the present will end tonight in Havana with an artistic evening convened by youth organizations on the historic steps of the University of Havana.

MESSAGES OF RESPECT AND ADMIRATION IN TRIBUTE TO FIDEL CASTRO

Six anniversary of Fidel Castro's death

Casa de las Américas President Abel Prieto on Friday expressed his respect and admiration for the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the sixth anniversary of his death.

“This November 25, I have to thank life once again for the extraordinary privilege of having allowed me to work with Fidel,” Prieto wrote on his Twitter account, who shared the hashtag #FidelPorSiempre.

Several phrases by the Commander-in-Chief, who died in Havana at the age of 90, were written on social media, recalling his eternal defense of the Cuban socialist project and the fairest causes in the world.

Of Fidel, as most of his people called him, the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television published: “(…) if someday we have to fight against a strange enemy or against a movement that comes against the Revolution, a handful of people would not fight but the whole people will fight.”

Meanwhile, the Fidel Castro Study Center tweeted: “I belong to the lineage of those who can hardly be arrested anywhere, not only because of the moral and conviction I have, but because of the history of my whole life, the one I know well, and it is not the one written by our enemies.”

Fidel Castro died in Havana on November 25, 2016, aged 90. His remains were buried at Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in the eastern Santiago de Cuba province.

His people and guests worldwide have visited the site to express respect and admiration for the leader of the Cuban Revolution. (PL)
