People in queues must be informed about the quantity of products to be sold

Timely information on the existence of products in the store networks is essential to avoid the discomfort of those queuing to buy, the main authorities of the province insisted in their periodic analysis of this issue.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In reviewing the government's strategy against hoarding and other illegalities in the queues, the Provincial Defense Council (CDP) stated that the administrations should make known sufficiently in advance, both to buyers and to the groups created to maintain order, the number of products to be sold each day. This, stressed Jaime Chiang Vega, vice-president of the CDP, will allow them to only keep waiting to buy, the number of people equivalent to the available goods.

Recently, the highest authorities of the Caribe Store Network and the Cimex corporation reiterated that they could not start selling any of their units without first telling the workers and the public, on the boards and in a visible way, the offers, their prices per unit and the quantity that each customer can acquire.

This week, contacts also continued between representatives of political and mass organizations, who, together with the forces of the ministries of the Interior and the Revolutionary Armed Forces, are carrying out this national campaign in order to ensure fair access for consumers to the products offered in the various retail networks in the country.

Only in Las Tunas, groups to confront illegalities have been located in the queues, formed by the mass organizations and the Defense Councils in 127 establishments. To date, their work, together with popular support, has led to actions against 11,900 people, according to data from the Provincial Defense Council. The majority were subjected to warnings and other prophylactic measures, although a little over a hundred were instructed to file criminal charges.
