Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Mekdad and his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, on Sunday advocated maintaining periodic consultations to deal with interference attempts in the internal affairs of the two nations.

Damascus.- It is important to continue to coordinate our positions in international forums, and strengthen and develop strategies to promote bilateral relations in various fields, the two foreign ministers affirmed in a telephone conversation.

Among other topics of mutual interest, the two heads of diplomacy discussed the propaganda unleashed by the West and Israel against Iran to create chaos and instability.

In this regard, the Syrian foreign minister reiterated his support for Tehran in the face of the campaign of lies and disinformation aimed at undermining its sovereignty, security, and stability.

These campaigns of distortion remind us of the one launched by Western countries against Syria during the war years, al-Mekdad said.

In turn, Abdollahian pointed out that the accusations of Iran sending drones to be used in Ukraine are flimsy and groundless. (PL)
